Jharkhand High Court: HC asks panel to probe infiltration issue |

HC asks panel to look into infiltration issue

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court observed a decline tribal people in the state due to the infiltration of Bangladeshi immigrants into Santhal Parganas able. The court ordered a fact-finding panel consisting of union and government officials to submit a report on the matter. The order, booked on September 20, was uploaded on the HC website on Sunday.
A division bench comprising Justices Sujit Narayan Prasad and Arun Kumar Rai, after hearing the petition filed by Daniel Danish, observed: “It cannot be disputed that the State of Jharkhand was created under the Central Legislation dated November 15, 2000 on the ground that majority of the population of Jharkhand are tribals.”
The order stated, “It cannot be denied that the problem of declining demography of tribal population is now affecting the population matrix of Jharkhand.”
“The aim of the committee is to present the reasons behind the infiltration taking place at the site and its impact on the population. “This is a first step towards therapeutic measures that can be applied to all vulnerable people to understand the scale of the problem we face,” the court said.
In his petition, Danish claimed that refugees from Bangladesh were entering Jharkhand through the porous borders in Santhal Parganas.
