Democratic presidential candidate, current Vice President Kamala Harris, used the word “freedom” 11 times in a campaign speech this week, emphasizing – as she has repeatedly done – “a woman’s freedom to make decisions about her own body.”

It’s the latest example of how Democrats are trying to take ownership of the word “freedom,” according to ABC News and The New Yorker. The New Yorker explains: “Democrats’ decades-long effort to reclaim the word is culminating in this year’s presidential race.”

Trying to turn into “freedom” their usual proposals on not only abortion and voting, but also gun control, climate, and LGBT issues really takes courage for Democrats. In fact, Democrats seek to limit our First and Second Amendment rights and more.

CNN HOST KASIE HUNT SAYS HARRIS IS ‘REPUBLICAN’ AND TRUMP IS ‘LIBERAL’ IN HIS ECONOMIC POLICY

Harris made “freedom” a theme of her campaign. He says this word often in his speeches. The song promoted in her campaign is “Freedom” by Beyoncé. The word “freedom” appears 24 times in the issues section of her campaign website. Freedom was emphasized in her first campaign video and in her speech at the Democratic convention.

“Many fundamental freedoms are at stake in this election,” Harris’ campaign website reads. According to their campaign website, Harris and his running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, “will always fight for the freedom to breathe clean air, drink clean water and live free from the pollutants that fuel the climate crisis.”

The policy section of Harris’ presidential campaign website makes no mention of our most important First Amendment freedoms – “free exercise of religion,” “freedom of speech and of the press” (former President Donald Trump’s campaign does). Someone should tell Democrats that there is a reason why they rank first in the Bill of Rights.

Walz said he sees “no guarantee of free speech” regarding disinformation and hate speech. However, such speech is constitutionally protected, otherwise the government would have the ability to regulate what is acceptable speech and could suppress dissent or label information it doesn’t like as “disinformation.”

A better approach is to allow freedom of speech, but maintain open debate and condemn hate speech. We’ve seen the alternative work: The Biden-Harris White House pressured Big Tech companies to censor Americans because of their views on Covid-19. In 2019, Harris called on then-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to suspend Trump’s account.

Americans likely won’t have the freedom to use the correct pronouns if Harris wins the election. The Biden-Harris administration wants to make it a civil rights violation if someone uses scientifically accurate pronouns against the preferences of someone with gender concerns.

For Democrats, “reproductive freedom” is the freedom they most want to defend. The verbal forced marriage of “reproduction” and “freedom” is another episode. Despite all attempts, reproduction, including in vitro fertilization, cannot be separated from its many consequences, such as childbearing. It’s just science.

In the presidential debate, Harris used the word “freedom” only in reference to abortion. “I will be a president who will protect our fundamental rights and freedoms, including a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body without the government telling her what to do,” Harris said (she doesn’t mind the government telling you what to do in many other matters).

But the freedom to abort an unborn child is not true freedom. In a truly free society, one person cannot have the freedom to take away another person’s freedom. An unborn child is not part of a woman’s body or her property – she is a separate human being with her own rights. By taking the life of an unborn child, a woman is depriving him of the most basic of all rights.

Twisting the word even further, Harris says he wants to defend “the freedom to vote.” But this is no more true for Democrats than Republicans. Both sides want to adopt an electoral law that favors their party. But Republicans want to make our election system more secure.

In fact, Democrats took away the freedom of their voters in this presidential election. It was the Democratic Party that removed its incumbent president, prevented a true primary challenge, and fought every independent challenger. Democrats also did not give Republicans the freedom to vote. Democrats, along with others on the law, are pushing demands to kick Trump off the ballots.

Harris says she will also defend “the freedom to openly love who you love.” The reality is that it will take away parents’ rights.

Her first campaign video shows crowds waving pride flags and Harris saying “we choose freedom.” But the LGBT community is not hidden – pride parades often feature half-naked adults in the presence of children.

Conservatives want the freedom to protect their children from ideologies that conflict with their beliefs, including sexually explicit books that are inappropriate for children. Democrats mistakenly call these efforts “book bans,” but by that logic, movie ratings are “movie bans” because young children shouldn’t watch R-rated movies.

Women will not be free under Harris. It will not defend women’s rights to keep biological men out of their bathrooms, locker rooms, sports facilities or sororities.

Harris would restrict the Second Amendment, but her campaign puts gun control in the light of freedom: “As president, she will not stop fighting for Americans to have the freedom to live without gun violence in our schools, communities and places of worship.”

If Harris wins the election, Americans will likely not have the freedom to use the correct pronouns. The Biden-Harris administration wants to make it a civil rights violation if someone uses scientifically accurate pronouns against the preferences of someone with gender concerns.

Harris’ promises of freedom and joy (another of her themes) sound as nonsensical as former President Barack Obama’s campaign for “hope and change.” Democrats want to impose greater government control on Americans, including through costly and ineffective economic and environmental policies.

Republicans also want clean air, but they acknowledge that more environmental regulations cost Americans in higher energy, housing and other costs. Being energy independent makes it impossible to finance foreign authoritarian governments.

Yes, Democrats believe in the “freedoms” of abortion, being LGBT, and voting without ID, but they don’t believe in First and Second Amendment rights, a woman’s right to keep men out of women-only spaces, parental rights, or energy independence.
