The Durga Puja festival, celebrated mainly in the eastern regions of India, namely West Bengal, Assam, Tripura and Odisha, lasts for five days, from the sixth day of Sharad Navratri (Shashti) to the tenth day (Dashami). Durga puja begins with the days of Shashti, Saptami, Ashtami, Navami and Vijayadashami. These puja days during Durga puja celebrations actually fall on the last five days of Navratri.
