Special Operations star Lucy Beaumont has shared an update following her split from husband Jon Richardson.

The comedy couple confirmed in April that they had made the “difficult decision” to divorce “mutually and amicably.”

In a new interview with The Sunday Times, Beaumont said she couldn’t talk about divorce at the behest of her lawyers, although she took into account the public nature of their marriage.

“I don’t regret anything,” she said. “But after this next stage, I try very hard to maintain my personal life.”

Beaumont added: “Sometimes I feel guilty for talking about my daughter and my marriage and my mom and dad.

“I think part of it felt grateful, grateful that I got the job, grateful that I was interviewed, and feeling like I had to sacrifice and share everything.”

In a joint statement released earlier this year, Beaumont and Richardson wrote: “After nine years of marriage, we would like to announce that we are separating. Together and amicably, we made the difficult decision to divorce and separate.

“As our only priority is to navigate this difficult change for our daughter, we ask that you respect our privacy at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will not be making any further comments.”

Beaumont appeared on Taskmaster last year alongside Julian Clary, Sue Perkins, Susan Wokoma and Sam Campbell – the latter of whom is expected to win the season.

Meanwhile, in April it was announced that Beaumont’s Channel 4 series Hullraisers had been axed after two seasons.
