The 6th Department of Tourism and the Division of Festivals announced that the UberSoca 2024 cruise will head to St. Croix for an exciting day full of celebrations and cultural celebrations. This year’s event will be an important milestone as it will be the tenth UberSoca Cruise. More than 2,500 revelers are expected to be on board the Norwegian Jade when it docks Oct. 24 at the Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility in Frederiksted.

The festivities will kick off with the UberSoca x USVI J’ouvert Cruise, a lively parade through the streets of Frederiksted, hosted by the Department of Tourism. With this year’s J’Ouvert themed as a vibrant, zombie-inspired road march, cruise guests and locals alike will revel in Crucian culture accompanied by music, paint, powder and foam. According to a DOT release issued on Monday, the procession will feature local and international entertainment, including performances by Virgin Islands residents DJ Avalanche and Adam O, as well as many other artists from the UberSoca Cruise lineup.

“As we continue to expand the marketing of this site around the world, we recognize the importance of continuing to enhance its culture and heritage,” said DOT Commissioner Joseph Boschulte. “Partnering with UberSoca Cruise allows us to connect and showcase our islands to the Caribbean diaspora and lovers of our rich regional culture.”

The 3km J’ouvert route will take participants to Frederiksted Beach, where the celebrations will end with a beach party. The event will feature performances by Pumpa from St. Croix, as well as international artist from Bouyon, Asa Bantana. Local vendors will also be on hand to offer food, drinks and treats, creating a vibrant atmosphere for cruise passengers and locals alike.

Event Schedule for the UberSoca x USVI St. Cruise Croix Day:

• 7:00 a.m.: Norwegian Jade docks at the Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility.
• 9:00: J’ouvert celebrations begin in Frederiksted.
• 12:00: The beach concert on Frederiksted Beach begins.
• 14:00: End of the concert on the beach.
• 15:00: Norwegian Jade leaves Ann E. Abramson Naval Base.
