Long Branch woman accused of stealing $80,000 dollars using your employer’s credit card


FREEHOLD, NJ – A 37-year-old Long Branch woman has been charged with stealing more than $80,000 from her former employer using a company-issued credit card for personal purchases over a five-year period, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said. announced on Monday.

Nadine Hurd, who worked as a customer service and inventory manager for a Wall Township manufacturing company, allegedly used a company credit card to purchase personal items from more than 50 retailers. Items included clothing, jewelry, outdoor furniture, garden supplies and a complete home kitchen remodel, including new appliances.

Hurd was charged with second-degree theft by unlawful taking. A joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Wall Township Police Department revealed that, after reviewing financial records, the thefts occurred between 2018 and 2023.

Hurd turned herself in on Friday, September 27 and was released on summons. Pending future court proceedings in Monmouth County Superior Court.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kristen Anastos of the Financial Crimes and Special Prosecution Unit. Hurd is represented by attorney William Wachowski of Freehold.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

    ANNAPOLIS, Md. – A 47-year-old man was arrested Sunday night in Annapolis after police discovered a firearm during a routine patrol.     During a search of the vehicle, police found a black Walther PPK pistol and a partially loaded magazine in the trunk. The driver, Joshua Lee Rose Aiken, of Annapolis, is prohibited from possessing firearms and was arrested. He was served with an arrest warrant and faced additional firearms charges.

    Officers who arrived at the scene found a 34-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the lower limb on the front steps of the house. She was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

    The suspect, identified as Stacy Delon Smith, was found inside the residence holding a black 9mm Diamondback handgun. He complied with officers’ commands to drop the weapon and was taken into custody without incident.
